Our Body is Our Most Valuable Treasure

We know that the perception of beauty and aesthetics is as old as human history. Although the perception of beauty, which has been accepted for hundreds of years, has changed in every period of history, it has always existed and will continue to exist. Of course, the main reasons for their existence are the fashion industry, cosmetics companies, media and advertisements. Beauty, which has been tried to be achieved for hundreds of years, has turned into a big income door that is shaped according to the perception of big brands. The understanding of beauty presented to us consists of the forms determined by those who hold power.
Although men have tried to be included in the system in recent years, the target has always been women. For years, they presented us with the ideal type of woman carved by the cosmetics, fashion and advertising industries with their own hands. Although each period takes on a different type, the only thing that does not change is that it is presented to us from afar. We learn from a very young age to discipline our bodies according to these norms. Unfortunately, we are surrounded by a system that is extremely far from loving ourselves and our body, and that wants us to fight with our body. Of course, the number of those who do not accept these impositions and live their lives according to their own norms is quite high.
With the effect of developing technology, social media has become a part of our lives. With the widespread use of social media, we are instantly informed about what is happening in the world. We can access the information we want, get down to its source and communicate with people on the other side of the world. In fact, the " body affirmation movement ", which started in the USA in the 1960s, has become known all over the world today, with the influence of social media. Although it was born as a reaction to the imposed ideal beauty perception in its early years, its inclusiveness has expanded today. This move aims to challenge unrealistic ideals of physical attractiveness. It aims to accept our physical characteristics and love ourselves as we are. This movement, which wages war against all labels in society, argues that it is wrong to negatively perceive different skin colors, clothing styles, unusual images or some physical differences, and that every body is sacred with what we have and our choices.
Fashion and ready-made clothing companies, which have been under the influence of standardized ideal beauty for many years, did not remain unresponsive to this huge body affirmation movement. Many world-famous brands have enlarged their size ranges. In their advertisements and fashion shows, they feature plus-size models, people with different images, and all races.
We, as the Alfa Beta family, continue to design our dresses by being inspired by the women in the lands we live in, on the way we set out with the philosophy of "There is an Alpha Beta dress for every woman inside us". We will continue to produce clothes for every body and every taste, without being the result of common impositions. Our body is our most precious treasure. Whatever we wear is fine.
